Dreamstime...

So as many people reading this will realist by now, photography isnt really an earner... infact its pretty tough at all to get money for any of your photos, then theres the massive outlay for equipment which is out of date within an hour of leaving the shop, or breaks so easially you have to eventually buy spares..

Ive decided that ill put my puctures up on stock photography sites to try and increase my earnings just a little...

Since setting up an account on Dreamstime.com i have managed to earn a grant total of $3, now thats only over 2 images that have currently been approved, now to me those look like pretty good odds!

Star Trails...

It might not come as a supprise for people that see my flickr but, im a big fan of startrails and long exposure photography.

So with talk of the nothern lights being visable from deepest darkest Yorkshire, i decided to try and capture them (it turns out they were lying) so i tried something ive not done before with star trails, taking them through a window with the frame visable, giving the trails more of a context, often they just end up looking like white and blue lines across the sky with no real reasoning behind them...

here is what i managed, and for the ones who are interested... there are 305 images stacked with startrails.de, they were 20 second exposures, iso100 at F4.0

As soon as it stops raining i want to re-visit this image and try to reduce the ammount of glare on the left hand side as it seems it caused a reflection in the window which i find a bit distracting...

If you have any hints, tips or comments please feel free to leave them below :)

Thanks

The Beginning...

Hello,

Its been a coupple of years since starting photography anything more than taking my compact to the pub...
I bought myself a Canon 1000d, it was cheap and i have to say its mroe than enough for what i wanted to do at the time...

This has now progressed to camera bags all over the house and a camera with over 50,ooo clicks of varying quality, im planning on putting some of my experiences and images on here, hopefully they will help others, or if nothing else give some ideas.

Thanks
